Version 9.1 collects all changes, corrections, improvements included in Epy and installation is required both for regulatory reasons and because it will be a prerequisite for future versions.
It also includes important new features concerning:
Implements Regulation (EU) 487/2013, which transposes the GHS ed. IV in the European CLP Regualtion.
Implements two adaptations of Annex VI of the CLP (harmonized classifications):
Reg. 944/2013 (V adaptation of the CLP)
Reg. 605/2014 (VI adaptation of the CLP)
Also implements Regulation (EU) 895/2014, which updates Annex XIV, containing the list of substances subject to the REACH authorization procedure.
A new model (optional) is also introduced for calculation of safety data sheets for the United States (according to the new OSHA rule which has adopted the GHS system in the US).
Updates the format of safety data sheets for China to the GBT Guide.
Updates the classification of safety data sheets for China to GHS 4 (GB 30000-2 – 30000-29 standard).
Introduces in the optional WGK calculation module the function to calculate the Storage Class TRGS 510 (German national standard).
Introduces a new function to check the consistency of the required ecotoxicological data with the classification for the Class of long-term environmental toxicity fot the environment.
Introduces a function for the formal control of substance identification numbers.
Re-introduces the search reports of substances and products according to their classification.
Provides from the product search panel and from the print menu, an indication of whether the product data sheet is a safety data sheet or information sheet (SDS or SI).
Provides direct display in the substance panel of whether it belongs to one or more regulatory lists (Candidate List; Annex XIV of REACH, Restrictions).
Provides a more precise classification of the corrosiveness of preparations, excluding from the evaluation, as permitted by the CLP, corrosive substances in quantities of less than 1%.
Following the inclusion of the calculation module for the United States, graphic changes have been made to the main panels; the functions, nevertheless, are largely unchanged.
It is very important that users carefully check the content of the explanatory document New features of EPYPlus version 9_EN BEFORE INSTALLING THE UPGRADE and that they comply with the instructions and advice provided. The user manual that can be consulted using the EPYPlus main panel (“?” menu), has been revised and improved to provide better support for correct use of the software.
Prerequisites
To install the latest release of the version 9.1, it’s required the installation of the version 9.1.0.
Users who don’t have version 9.1.0 installed, must first visit: install version 8.1.
Users who are still using version 7 or previous software should contact our help desk for information on how to upgrade their product.
Instructions for installation
Before performing software upgrades, it is essential to perform an archive back-up.
Make a copy of the programme’s ”Archive” folder, saving it on the workstation or server, depending on the EPYPLUS setup used.
Make sure it is not necessary to perform any urgent operations on the machine. Do not switch the computer off until the work has been completed.
Launch the upgrade procedure as follows:
Download the file EpyPlusSp91.exe onto the computer on which EPYPlus is installed.
Copy the downloaded file (EpyPlusSp91.exe), into the folder in which EpyPlus is installed (usually C:\Telematic\EpyPlus or C:\Program Files\EpyPlus).
Make sure that no one is using the programme.
Double click EpyPlusSp91.exe and proceed with the application of the upgrade.
Once the procedure is complete, an update performed correctly message will appear.
All these operations must be performed by all EPYPlus clients.
Warning!!! Before performing the upgrade, save the “Archivi” folder of the EpyPlus server workstation
